Hello Melati,

I admire your wonderful talent to be able to write lovely and beautiful “puisi” on the spot. I am working on my next “puisi.” Meanwhile, here is a short one to celebrate New Year.

Happy New Year.

A special day that's sunshine bright,
a happy heart that's warm and light,
and every New Year wish come true,
these things are wished today for you.

Hello Melati,

It took months for me to write and re-write this “puisi.” Finally, here it is. It will take many months in the future for the next one. Meanwhile, I am looking forward to reading your “puisi” and those of others. Have a nice day.

Sorry. I need to update and re-do this “puisi.”

Hello Melati,

I am sorry that “puisi” in this page is duplicate of previous one. I am replacing with my way of thanking all of those hard working photographers who brought the Minang culture, landscapes and people to all of us. I have published this “puisi” in West-Sumatra website.

Fulfilling Lifetime Experience --

Maybe it is the unspoiled landscapes with lush greenery and blue lagoons.
Maybe it is spectacular, vibrant yet peaceful sunsets.
Maybe it is the place to get in touch with the restorative powers of nature.
Maybe it is the earthly delights and unique “ruko” architecture.
Maybe it is the charming towns and villages with surprises of their own.
Maybe it is the home of a warmly hospitable people famous for their traditions.
Whatever it is, one thing is for sure: Visiting Minang is simply the best.

Hello Hifni,

I enjoyed reading your article entitled “Benarkah Peran Sosial Wanita Minang Dalam Adat dan Budayanya Sebagai Wujud Kesetaraan Gender?” in this website. As a Minang who is living overseas, this article gives me a better understanding of the role of women in the Minang culture.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your work you have brought the Minang culture and people to the whole world. Here is the “puisi” that I have written to recognize the natural beauty and unique foods of Minang.

Imagine:
a place where the tropical winds always blow gently through the swaying trees,
a place where rivers flow through unspoiled natural wonders,
a place with mountain waterfalls and crystal blue lakes,
a place with friendly people,
a place where aromatic spices and a variety of hot chili papers which are a treat to the senses,
a place with the delicate flavors of “Lamang Tapai,”
a place with the blazing chilies in “Itiak Lado Hijau,“ “samba jariang Panggang” and “Samba Hitam,“
a place with the exotic/tangy drink known as “Es Ketimun,“
a place that is called “Paradise.”

This place is not a dream -- it is Minang.
